The coloration ranges from dark brown to silver, with two narrow dark bands along the sides.

Dimensions: Cobia can grow up to 79 inches (200 cm) in length and weigh as much as 135 pounds (61 kg), although they are more commonly found at weights around 50 pounds (23 kg).

Lifespan: They have a moderately long lifespan, with maximum ages recorded at 14 years for females and 13 years for males in certain regions.
